4:8:4 YVAN Small Grants Scheme, Yorkshire & Humber Visual Arts Network

Yorkshire & Humber Visual Arts Network (YVAN) exists to support and promote contemporary visual art in the region by working with the visual art sector to help address its priorities.

•4 Critical Writing Bursaries of £500 for writers developing their writing on contemporary visual arts. Winners will be required to write four pieces during the period of their bursary

•8 grants of up to £500 for artists developing their practice. Applications could be for:
◦A specific project or exhibition
◦Skills training
◦R&D including travel
◦Marketing or publicity

•4 Art Fair Bursaries of up to £500 for artists wishing to exhibit at an art fair, in the Yorkshire region, nationally or internationally

Applying

Application is by Word/PDF document accompanied by one page budget, up to 4 supporting images and links to relevant websites, showreels etc. Application package must not exceed 3mb.

Writing Bursaries should include:
•A description of 4 or more proposed critical writing pieces including at least one relating to artists living or working in the region
•Examples of up to 3 pieces of previous written work, either as doc/pdf files or links
•How this bursary would help you to develop your practice

Artists Development Grants should include:
•A short description of the project
•Examples of your work as jpgs or links
•How this funding would help you to develop your practice
•Any partners or partner organisations

Art Fair Bursaries should include:
•Name and description of the art fair
•Why you wish to exhibit
•Examples of your work as jpgs or links
•How this bursary would help you to develop your practice

Eligibility
Open to artists & writers living or working in Yorkshire region. Writing bursaries are open to anyone including students. Artist Development grants and Art Fair bursaries are open to professional visual artists. Students in full time education are ineligible.
