Artist Callout - Artfelt (Sheffield Children's Hospital)

Artfelt are looking for friendly and enthusiastic creatives from a range of disciplines including; visual art, performance art, music, storytelling, poetry and digital arts or technology to widen their existing hospital workshop programme.

The Artfelt engagement programme delivers a range of workshops and performances tailor made to delight, excite and distract our young patients during anxious moments – such as an operation or break up long stays on the wards at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

To give you a taster of what they have been up to… their recent workshops have included: Electronic Music Making, Pottery, Theatre, Street Art, Spoken Word, Circus Skills, Seasonal Crafts, Ukulele Club, Cinema Screenings, Live Theatre Streaming, Hand Drumming, Beat Boxing, Textile Design and much more.

Artfelt is looking for enthusiastic, creative, calm and friendly creative facilitators to join their existing artist pool. If you have experience working with young people from 2 years - 18 years and would like to deliver exciting workshops to make their day, they want to hear from you!

They are looking for creative facilitators who can run workshops on our wards and performers who can entertain our patients and their families in waiting areas. Workshops are delivered to small groups in playrooms on the wards or 1.1 at bedsides. Artists must be sensitive, flexible and able to adapt to the changing hospital environment. Training and full support will be given to help and encourage artists to modify their practice to the hospital environment.
