Artist Educator, Artworks, The Everybody School of Art

Artist Educator, Artworks, The Everybody School of Art

Artworks are looking for Artist Educators based in, or willing to travel to the West Yorkshire area, with experience delivering engaging and imaginative activities that share their discipline specific knowledge in creative and accessible ways. Their programmes incorporate a wide range of visual art, design and craft disciplines and we are therefore interested in hearing from a variety of practitioners.

They are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience working in health, social care and education contexts as well as practitioners who have experience working with: children and young people; people with special educational needs or people with lived experience of mental ill health.

Their learning and engagement programme supports participants of all ages and abilities to develop their practical skills, self-motivation, confidence and critical thinking in and through creative practice. Their learning programmes include:

On-site courses and workshops for children, youth and adult audiences, covering a wide range of disciplines
A wellbeing programme including artist-led workshops and peer support sessions
A schools programme including outreach workshops in nationwide primary and secondary schools, and teacher CPD including a busy Teach Meet programme (both onsite and online)
Outreach workshops in the community, for a variety of audiences and local project partners
Successful applicants will help participants to pursue their interests and ignite their creativity. They will have experience in developing and delivering a range of creative learning activities and programmes that respond to the needs and interests of the student. They will have an active enthusiasm for their subject.

As well as learned skills, we recognise the experience that life brings. We are looking for tutors who reflect the varied communities that we work with. We are particularly interested in artists who self identify as part of underrepresented communities and those who face more barriers to accessing arts and culture: namely neurodiverse and disabled adults; children and young people with SEND; people with mental health problems; BAME communities; LGBTQ+; those on low incomes or living in areas of high deprivation.
