Assistant Musical Director, Neighbourhood Voices
Neighbourhood Voices are a choir of 50+ women meeting on Tuesday evenings 7.30-9pm and sing predominantly pop and indie/alternative songs, the majority of which are arranged in house.
The choir is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and confident assistant musical director. They are open to hearing from professionals of all levels and experience, though feel this position would suit a confident 2nd or 3rd year student/recent graduate or a person who has worked with classical/choral choirs and would like to broaden their MD skills.
Job Description:
- To help set up and pack down rehearsal space
- To assist choir members in their learning by singing with different sections throughout rehearsals.
- To occasionally lead warm up/exercises when required
- To cover sessions in Gina's absence when required
- To lead sectionals in rehearsals when required
- To lead/co-lead gigs when available with fees agreed to in advance.
- To arrange songs if possible and you have the desire to.
- To notate recordings into Sibelius if possible.
