Communications Specialist for Kirklees Museums and Galleries

Kirklees Museums and Galleries are looking for a creative communications specialist or agency to communicate the key outcomes, stories and successes of their project 'Sustainable Collections’. Details are below:

Kirklees Museums and Galleries manages a range of cultural venues and a huge collection of objects and fine art held in trust for the people of Kirklees. We have Arts Council funding for a project called ‘Sustainable Collections’. This is currently developing an innovative new model for sustainable collections, with a focus on collections displayed in unexpected places, the potential of volunteers, the impact of heritage on health and well-being, business improvement and developing a fundraising vision.

We are seeking a creative communications specialist or agency to communicate the key outcomes, stories and successes of this project both internally and externally, in a variety of media.

Skills required:

- Experience of working with museums/galleries/cultural sector
- The ability to respond to the brief with imagination and innovation
- A track record of producing communication material in print/digital/film formats
- The skills to distil the Sustainable Collections project into key messages in appropriate and varied formats for our target audiences
- A willingness to work collaboratively with us at all times
- Ability to work to agreed timescales and budget

Timescales and budget:

- We require you to communicate the outcomes of the project’s first year which culminates in October 2016. The Year 1 budget is £2000.
- We require you to work with throughout Year 2 of the project which runs from
November 2016 to October 2017. The Year 2 budget is £3750)
