Dewsbury Lunchtime Concert season goes out with a bang!

Dewsbury Lunchtime Concert season goes out with a bang!

Last week saw the last concert of the 2017/18 Lunchtime Concert Season at Dewsbury Town Hall and what a finale! We had a whistle-stop tour through the percussion section of the Orchestra of Opera North with Chris and Elsa Bradley, and Charlie Ashby playing an array of instruments from around the world. There was much toe-tapping throughout the concert and even a little audience participation for one of the pieces performed! Comments from the audience included; “Something different, I really enjoyed that”, “Brilliant” and “You wouldn’t get such quality in London for £5!”

The Dewsbury Lunchtime Season is part of the Kirklees Concert Season, brought to you by Kirklees Council and Opera North. And although the current Dewsbury season, “best season yet”, has now drawn to a close, these wonderfully friendly and sociable concerts will return in September for another “fantastically varied programme” showcasing the talents of Opera North’s musicians.

If you want to find out what the new season will have to offer, why not come to our Dewsbury Season Preview on Wednesday 23rd May, 12.30pm at Dewsbury Town Hall?

Whilst the season in Dewsbury has come to an end, there is still time to catch the last two concerts of the 2017/18 Kirklees Concert Season at Huddersfield Town Hall;
• Lunchtime Organ Concert with Kirklees Borough Organist, Gordon Stewart, on Monday 26th March at 1pm
• Across the Atlantic: Bernstein, Gershwin, John Adams and Rachmaninov with the Orchestra of Opera North on Thursday 29th March at 7.30pm

Hope you can make it to one or both!
