DONATE - Mobile giving for arts & culture

The National Funding Scheme (NFS), a registered charity, operates a mobile giving platform called DONATE. The NFS provides this platform for free to the arts and heritage sector, thereby totally transforming the way that the public can give to cultural and heritage organisations.

DONATE combines SMS texting, QR code and web apps into one simple platform meaning that people can give to the organisation of their choice through one recognised brand - it is a very, very easy way of donating.

Given the fact that many local councils are no longer in a position to support the many heritage and cultural organisations within their areas, this may offer a solution to some of the funding difficulties that many organisations are facing. Since March of last year over £83,000 has been raised using the DONATE platform with nearly 3000 donations being made (60% of all donations are gift aided).
