Education Programme Producer, Bradford Literature Festival

Bradford Literature Festival is an annual, ten-day festival, held between June and July each year in the heart of Bradford. The festival was launched in 2014 with the aim of creating a national destination festival that would excite and encourage both children and parents to engage with books and reading.

Bradford Literature Festival is looking for an Education Programme Producer to:

Manage relationships with local schools and education providers
Produce and deliver a year-round programme of engagement and activity, ranging from small workshops, to day-long events for up to 1000 students

Produce and deliver the in-festival Schools Programme (June/July delivery)

Job Description

Under the direction of the Festival Director and Creative Producer, the Education Programme Producer will:

Manage relationships with local schools and education providers, to develop audiences for the BLF Education Programme
Work with the core programming team to create the festival Schools Programme, and any year-round out-reach activity.
Work with the wider team to support marketing, bookings, recruitment, relationship management and operations for the successful delivery of the programme.

Oversee execution of events year-round and during the festival.
Line manage a dedicated schools team made up of both paid staff and volunteers during activity delivery.

Take the initiative in developing new opportunities for children and young people to engage with the festival.

Contribute to funding bids, proposals and other fundraising activity, where linked to the Education Programme.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with teachers, schools and administrators across the Bradford district, developing BLF’s understanding of the challenges faced.

Manage the schools programme budget, and ensuring information is shared at regular intervals with the Creative Producer.

Lead on the collection of data linked to the Education Programme, and assist with the analysis of data, and evaluation of the Education Programme, and associated activities.
