Freelance Performer for Pif-Paf`s outdoor touring, Pif-Paf

Pif-Paf is a prolific & highly respected outdoor theatre company touring small scale shows & installations through the UK and internationally to urban & green field festivals of all scale.
We are looking for 1 or 2 freelance performers to join our team. We are keen supporters of diversity & inclusion in the workplace and particularly welcome applications from BAME artists.
Dates are yet to be fixed, applicants will have a growing role in our busy summer schedule.

The job
We have a small team of freelancers for whom we represent one of the many things they do. You could expect 8-12 days a year, almost all at weekends between May and October.
The job is for someone building up their own practice or company, not someone who wants long acting tours. Someone who thrives on working outdoors with the general public and the surprises, challenges and joy this brings.
We have 5 shows in rep. We train our freelance performers to work across 3 of these to deliver our busy summer touring. We have a strong history of offering mentoring and other development support to our team.
Person Spec
Essential
good availability for weekends (including Friday evenings) May-October
full clean UK driving licence and happy to drive long wheelbase vans - and tri-cycles
- enthusiasm to muck in on long days to cover all aspects of touring (travel, build, relations with bookers & audience and performing)
based within 1hr travel of Sheffield
a varied theatrical training
experience of and passion for working with a family audience and the general public
- DBS clearance
a passion for making the arts accessible to all
punctual, reliable, fun and a real team player.

Preferred
cycle repair/basic mechanical skills (our main show is tri-cycle based)
experience in set rig/de-rig on tour
surprise skills!

fee £180 per show day + paid travel & rehearsals
