Music for All Funding

Objectives of Fund
The grants programme aims to give a helping hand to projects and initiatives across the UK that are seeking to bring music to their community. The funding is for groups that need assistance to fulfil their potential in developing truly sustainable music programmes.

Value Notes
Funding is at the discretion of the charity and no minimum or maximum grant amounts are listed.
In the past grants have been typically around £2,500.

Match Funding Restrictions
The charity is unlikely to be able to meet application in full, so applicants are strongly advised to also apply to other bodies for assistance.

Who Can Apply
UK-based groups, schools and organisations that are bringing music to their communities can apply.
Priority will be given to applicants who are most in need of help.
The individuals involved in the application must have been resident in the UK for at least three years and be either a British citizen or a national of a member state of the European Economic Area, or have been granted leave to enter or remain in the UK for indefinite period, or hold a right to abode.
Applicants who have been awarded a grant in the last 12 months must wait a year to re-apply.

Restrictions
The following are not eligible for funding:
Retrospective costs.
Applicants based outside of the UK and Ireland.
Applicants present in the UK only for the purpose of education or attending a course of study.

Eligible Expenditure
Funding is available for musical instrument costs, workshops/training, using music to break down barriers, providing a variety of educational opportunities as well as helping to find ways to integrate many diverse and minority groups positively into society.
Previously funded groups include the Whittonstall Community Band, Milngavie School, Bromley Youth Music Trust and the Strathnairn Music Initiative.

How To Apply
The deadline for applications to the:
Spring period is 1 November for funding requirement in the following January.
Summer period is 1 February for funding requirement in April.
Autumn period is 1 July for funding requirement in September.
