PEOPLE · MAKE · PLACES: Cultivating Fertile Ground

PEOPLE · MAKE · PLACES: Cultivating Fertile Ground

PEOPLE · MAKE · PLACES is a series of events to simulate thinking, ideas and debate and inspire action to drive cultural and creative development in Kirklees. Guest speakers will present examples of initiatives which are enabling culturally meaningful places to flourish elsewhere in the UK. Themed facilitated discussions will explore the role of culture in the context of developing healthy, economically vibrant, thriving places and people.

The third and final event in this series, CULTIVATING FERTILE GROUND, will explore how individual artists specialising in place-making can contribute to transforming areas into places in which people choose to live, work, play and invest.

Thursday 10 March 2016, 5:30 – 8:30pm at Café Ollo, The Media Centre, Northumberland Street, Huddersfield, HD1 1RL

The event will be led by Susan Jones, a visual arts consultant, researcher and research adviser who currently writes for The Guardian and Arts Professional.
