uShoot: uScreen Filmmaking Competition

uScreen are looking for inspiring ideas for short films on the theme of “Values” – the best 6 will be given the Filmmaking Bursary and Mentor Award.

Schools, Youth Groups, Colleges and Communities are invited to encourage any deaf and disabled aspiring filmmakers, aged 14 to 25, from across the South East, to apply for the opportunity to win a £1500 film bursary to make a film with expert advice from a Professional Film Mentor.

DEADLINE for applications is Friday 15 June 2012

Bursary Winners must make their film by the end of September 2012

What will you get?

A £1500 budget to make a short film.
Advice from a Professional Film Mentor.
10 tickets to the Awards Ceremony in October.

What do we want?

Any disabled young person aged 14 to 25 to direct the film.
A group of any other people aged 14 to 25 who you will involve in the film.
A film idea on the theme of ‘Values’ - what’s important to you?
A school, youth group or other organisation who will accept the bursary.
Willingness to work with a Professional Film Mentor.
Commitment to produce a film (1-5 minutes long) by the end of September 2012.
Commitment to attend the Awards Ceremony in October 2012.

How to Apply

Priority will be given to South East based projects and all other projects will be expected to have some involvement or benefit for the South East, for example, partnering with a South East school/youth club or joining up with young people based in the South East etc.
