Globe Arts new home in Slaithwaite

We've been having a busy time over the last few weeks... moving to our fantastic new location in the centre of Slaithwaite.

It has been mine and Jackie's dream from the moment we talked about starting an art school that we could be part of our own village, and 2 years on we've done it!

We have taken on the old Wharfside Inn on Carr Lane/New Street with the contemporary fabric shop and sew school, Simply Solids who have relocated from Linthwaite. And very much feel that together we can create a vibrant arts venue that can add to the flourishing Slaithwaite community.

Still very much a work in progress... So far, we have opened our Studio on Carr Lane - all our classes are here now, and we have all our new term classes starting from Monday 31st October - including fused glass and ceramics short courses (perfect for Christmas gift ideas), as well as one off workshops.

Next month, our New Street space will open - this was the old function room, and we are transforming it into a light and fresh open plan space, ideal for larger events. This space will be available to hire for other events such as parties or your own workshops and classes, making it a true community space.

And our final phase is to refurbish the top floor, which was bed and breakfast accommodation, into artist studio space suitable for a wide range of artist and makers. If you're interested in studio space do get in touch for more information.
