Green Hill Arts is a contemporary award-winning art gallery on the edge of Dartmoor in Moretonhampstead. It has been acquiring a reputation as a serious innovative gallery and a vibrant experimental community space.

The building itself is an imaginative conversion of Moretonhampstead’s old Victorian primary school building by the Moretonhampstead Development Trust. With a creative hub at its heart, Green Hill Arts is run by a steering group of local artists, a gallery manager and volunteers. Its strong community roots enables it to seek out and showcase the work of emerging local artists alongside internationally-known names.
As well as the gallery, Green Hill houses purpose-built artists’ studios, heritage displays and archive, and a dedicated youth centre as well as an arts and crafts shop selling cards, prints, ceramics, jewellery, leatherwork, textiles and much more form all over Devon.

There is an on-going programme of exhibitions, arts workshops and talks.

Green Hill is attracting the attention of some of the most respected South West Artists. Names such as Peter Randall-Page, Susan Derges, and Peter Stiles have become synonymous with Green Hill over the last four years  having exhibited in the Gallery's large attractive contemporary space, and supported the Gallery’s developing programme.

The Art Shop offers space for artists to exhibit and sell their work from paintings, prints and ceramics through to textiles, wood and ironwork.Within this imaginatively converted former Primary School there are studio and creative workspaces for hire, mixed use offices, a Youth Centre and Heritage Archive.

We represent artists across a wide spectrum and pride ourselves on being committed to trends and the development of new talent as well as working with established artists with distinguished reputations such as Clive Bowen, Penny Simpson, Susan Derges, Peter Randall Page, Danny Holmes Adams, Nicholas White, Trevor Felcey, Sabine Nemet, Taja, Yuli Somme to name but a few!
