Reading the Future - Exeter Northcott

My Play, 'The Blok' will receive a rehearsed reading at The Northcott, 7pm, 10th June. Directed by Martin Harvey.

A music student at the Amsterdam conservatoire struggles with the decision of giving up her instrument (The Blokflute). An all night encounter with her tutor forces them both to face their choices, their art, and most importantly, each other.

"The blokflute is about cheating; you have to cheat expression, cheat the dynamics. You can't have any emotions. You can't play Brahms, or Shostakovich, or even Mozart...The blokflute is not a sexy instrument."
