Flying Colours - Recent Works by Aline Rose and Diana Booth

Flying Colours - Recent Works by Aline Rose and Diana Booth

Aline Rose and Diana Booth present a collection of colourful, contemporary paintings and mixed media works.

Informal Gallery Talk with the artists: Thursday 3 December at 12 noon.

Diana works in oil on canvas, applying paint boldly with a palette knife.
The magnificent cliffs and rippling sands of the South Hams coast are a constant source of inspiration and the subject of much of her work. Other paintings have been directly inspired by her travels, such as scenes of gannets in the clear air and strong sunlight at Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand, and the bleached driftwood structures found on the beaches of the Kapiti Coast. Snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef has inspired paintings with the luminous colours of the underwater world, while the timeless feel of the ancient olive groves of the Greek Islands seeps into other recent works.
Diana has exhibited recently at Harbour House, The Ariel Centre, Totnes, and at Greenway (National Trust).

Aline Rose's passion is for wildlife and nature, with a deep respect for the environment expressed visually using a variety of media. Drawings in pencil or ink are typically highly detailed, mixed media works bright and inventive, and acrylic paintings bold and powerful.
For Aline, however, there is a message in each piece of work: a silent plea for more compassionate treatment of life on our planet. New work includes local and British landscapes, alongside acrylic and bead art paintings of marine animals and insect life.
Aline exhibits at Harbour House, Paington Zoo, and with the Totnes Art Society, as well as producing work for commission.

Open daily 9.30 am - 4.30 pm, with late opening until 6 pm on Saturday
