The Devon Guild of Craftsmen and Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton are working in partnership to stage an exciting exhibition which challenges preconceived ideas of 'lace'.
Recent work in steel, acrylic and paper by Helen Snell will be on show at The Thelma Hulbert Gallery from Saturday 14 September - Saturday 2 November
This show explores the ways contemporary artist-makers reference and use the material in their work.
intoLACE - which straddles both venues and shows work by different makers - seeks to examine the historic uses and values of lace with particular reference to Honiton lace.
It considers what makes lace relevant in today’s contemporary practices and asks why lace has such an enduring appeal. Specially commissioned site-specific installations will be in-situ at each venue
