Chief Executive Officer Designate

Hoot Creative Arts is looking to appoint a CEO Designate to work alongside our current founder and CEO to steer the organisation into the future. After 12 years of continuous growth to become one of the leading providers of arts and health in the country, we are now looking for an ambitious, creative and bold individual to steer the next stage of our development. We anticipate that the successful candidate will take the reins as CEO from 2016 onwards.

Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and working across the North East, Hoot runs a wide range of creative groups and activities for people with mental health needs, older people, people in prisons or special hospitals, and a range of vulnerable groups and communities (see www.hootcreativearts.co.uk). Recently reappointed as an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, we have ambitious plans to sustain and develop our core programmes, produce and platform high quality art that raises the level of debate about sanity and madness, increase participation and make the arts central to personal and social growth and change.

We are looking for someone with a strong grounding in arts and health, a keen artistic and strategic vision and the practical skills to turn good ideas into deliverable practice. You will have experience at senior management level in a similar setting, excellent fundraising skills and the capacity to provide clear leadership whilst also fostering a strong, collaborative team approach.

We are offering a starting salary of £34,894 (pro rata) for a 4 day week.

The closing date for completed applications is 12pm on Friday 22nd August. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 16th September plus there will be an opportunity to meet informally with participants, staff and board members on 15th September.
