Maiolica Pottery Painting Masterclass with Marshall Colman

Come and learn the technique of painting pottery in the maiolica style in a 3 hour Masterclass with Marshall Colman, one of the leading maiolica practitioners in the country.
Spend an enjoyable and instructive morning with us and take home your decorated and glazed pot afterwards.
Maiolica is a way of making beautiful and colourful patterns and designs on pottery, which has been practiced by potters around the world for hundreds of years.

The 3-hour class will introduce you to maiolica, guide you in glazing your pot, explain basic principles of design based on examples and illustrations and demonstrate techniques of decoration, how to mix colours and how make interesting and varied surface textures with brush, wax resist and sgraffito (scratching).

This is a fun, hands-on class for all levels. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never painted pottery before or whether you already have some experience. You will receive personal guidance and tuition in the group.
