Light a Beacon for Refugees - singing workshop and performance

Far Cry and In Good Voice present Light a Beacon an afternoon of singing in support of refugees

In November and December 2016 a network of music events are taking place across the UK instigated by The Refugee Resilience Collective. Far Cry and their Musical Director Jenny Goodman (In Good Voice) felt they wanted to be part of making a stand in support of refugees at this time ... so why not join them for an afternoon of singing and harmony on the theme of Unity and Welcome.

2- 3.30 pm (approx) participatory singing session led by Jenny Goodman and assisted by Far Cry - we'll learn a range of harmony songs that everyone can join in ... this is a chance to experience the power of singing to bring people and communities together - a chance to remind ourselves we are stronger and better together. Absolutely NO previous singing experience needed - all songs taught by ear.

3.30 - break for tea and cake

4 - 5.30 (approx) performance by Far Cry and women from Kirklees WomenCentre.

Just come along - entry by donation - both the Quaker Meeting House and Jenny are donating their space and time for free to enable the maximum to be raised for local refugee groups
