LBT announces Hallowe'en Happening line up

HALLOWE’EN HAPPENING is back with another spine-tingling line up of creepy, curious and raucous entertainment, utilising the entire LAWRENCE BATLEY THEATRE HUDDERSFIELD (the LBT) building on SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER.

Now in its sixth year, HALLOWE’EN HAPPENING celebrates all things outlandish, macabre and unusual with a feast of special events. The LBT invites audiences to wander their atmospheric Georgian building and sample an array of small plays, special effects make-up, interactive performances, magic, fiendish film and live music, plus each ticket includes Sweeney Todd’s hearty pie and pea supper.

Find a taster of just some of the acts forming this year’s line-up:

When the Witching Hour arrives, guests are asked to pick up a Pagan Hymn Book for the interactive spectacular SING-ALONG-A-WICKERMAN which features a screening of the 1973 cult film. KWAIDAN, from the archaic Japanese word meaning ‘ghost story’, is the main drama offering. This atmospheric performance based on terrifying traditional Japanese horror stories will be haunting the main house.

MESSRS. CURZON, CARTER & TAYLOR deliver psychic experiments as they summon the ‘thinning of the veil’ betwixt our world and the next and special effects make-up artist DOUGLAS THOMPSON gets hands-on mutilating punters with seeping wounds and gruesome scars.

There will be live music in the Syngenta Cellar from LES VEGAS AND THE INTERNATIONAL PLAYBOYS OF RHYTHM, and a chance to master the legendary THRILLER dance with a professional choreographer. Creep down to the green room for more chilling tales with IN BED WITH THE DEAD and meet NORMAN WISDOM AND THE ANGEL OF DEATH in award-winning author Christopher Fowler’s short story.

With more horrifyingly good acts and exhibitions to be announced soon, this is set to be the most ghoulishly good night of the year. The fun starts at 7.00pm on SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER, with a dress code of fancy dress or funeral attire, and admission is strictly for over 18s.

Tickets, priced at £15, including a pie and pea supper, and can be booked via Box Office on 01484 430528 or online at
