Save the date! Lindfield Arts Festival - 12-14 September 2014

The Lindfield Arts Festival revealed that big plans are already underway for the fifth Festival in 2014, which sees three local friends teaming up to take over as the Arts Festival Directors.

The festival directors, inspired by their passion for the local community, have chosen the theme of Quintessential Lindfield which will focus on portraying Lindfield life by time travelling from the past through to the future. The widely anticipated programme of arts events will also move from May to 12-14 September 2014 in response to residents’ feedback.

The theme will be split over the three days with a different period of time inspiring the exhibitions and activities:
• Friday will focus on life in the village over the past
• Saturday on the present day life in the village
• Sunday on what the future life will potentially look like

Life in Lindfield during each time period will be explored through inspirational art and craft exhibitions, workshops and unique activities ranging from classic cars and motorbikes, musical extravaganzas, theatrical productions, sensational dance performances and more! It is anticipated that there will be sumptuous gala evenings on both the Saturday and Sunday nights bringing together world class professional and local talented performers of all ages.

Esther Featherstone, one of the talented trio of Festival Directors, said: “Marian, Lorna and I are delighted to be taking on the mantle and moving the Festival forward for 2014. We feel the theme of Quintessential Lindfield is a perfect match for the Festival and provides the ideal opportunity to celebrate our glorious village and its rich tapestry of history through art.”

The three directors are currently seeking to create a committee of people to help organise this unique event. In particular they are looking for people to take on the vital role of Treasurer. If you would like to get involved please contact the directors via enquiries@lindfieldartsfestival.com. If you have a particular interest or skill then please include this along with your contact details within your email. You do not need to be particularly artistic to be involved although a creative mind is always helpful!

Work is also underway exploring opportunities to work with exhibitors, people wishing to take workshops and performers keen to take part in the festival. If you would like to participate in any way please contact the directors via the above email address.
