Plymouth International Book Festival 2013

Plymouth International Book Festival 2013

The Plymouth International Book Festival is a brand new literature festival, and the first large scale celebration of international and UK writers that Plymouth has ever seen. With a programme of readings, talks, poetry, workshops, demonstrations, music, film, and play, the festival promises something for everyone to enjoy.

Festival highlights this year include Kate Mosse, Ben Okri, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Lemn Sissay, and Helen Dunmore.

Plymouth International Book Festival is part of an exciting partnership project between Plymouth University, Plymouth City Council and Literature Works, which brings a year long programme of literature events to the city.

- The Plymouth International Book Festival, the first festival in what we hope will be one of the largest and most successful urban literature festivals in the UK.
- 10 days of events bringing the best authors, poets and illustrators to the city
- a celebration of writing, reading and the spoken word which invites all communities in to share the love of books, imagination and ideas.
- putting Plymouth in the literary map of the UK, celebrating the city’s heritage of great writers, thinkers, explorers
- a festival funded by Arts Council England, South West, Literature Works, Plymouth University and the Arts Team, Plymouth City Council.
