The Wired Earth Quest

The Wired Earth Quest

The Wired Earth Quest:
Three Adventure Playgrounds, one quest – to bring the
music of your community to the Wired Earth Festival in June!!
We’re looking for 25 heroes age 8-12 in each community to take
part in an extraordinary adventure where the world of play
combines with the world of music to bring your sound to Torbay.
It all kicks off with a ‘Community Quest’ in February half term that
starts at your local community centre and ends up on your local
adventure playground. Music Leaders and Playworkers will take you on
a journey of discovery as you find the sounds of your community.
You don’t need to be a musician, you don’t need to be a hero - you
just need to come…
Saturday 11 February 10.00am: The Windmill Centre in Hele
Finishes 2.00pm: Fort Apache Adventure Playground, Hele
Thursday 16 February 12 noon: Indigos Wild Adventure Playground, Brixham
Finishes 4.00pm: The Edge in Brixham
Saturday 18 February 10.00am: The Foxhole Community Centre in Foxhole
Finishes 2.00pm: Wild Fox Adventure Playground, Foxhole
What happens after?
There will be regular Wired Earth workshop sessions run at your local community
centre and/or Adventure Playground. You will create your own group performance
piece supported by music leaders and playworkers. In June you’ll meet up with
children from the other adventure playgrounds and bring your sounds together
– whatever way you want!!!
Does it cost anything?
No. The Wired Earth quest is free!
The project is being funded by Youth Music and Torbay Council
Play Torbay are proud to be working in partnership with the Devon Music Collective
to bring the Wired Earth Quest to three local Adventure Playgrounds and three
local communities in Torbay
