Relaunch of ArtsMatrix

Relaunch of ArtsMatrix

The moment artists across the region have been waiting for, the relaunch of ArtsMatrix.

The professional skills and enterprise development agency for the arts and Creative Industries in the South West, ArtsMatrix, is celebrating with a new website and an exciting range of courses and networking events for the sector. There will also be a spectacular relaunch party on January 20 to be held at Plymouth College of Art.

The Culture Show’s Matthew Collings, art critic and broadcaster, who is also famous for presenting the Turner Prize programme on Channel 4 will be a guest speaker at the celebration.

Matthew is a British art critic and broadcaster, well known for presenting the Turner Prize programme on Channel 4 and The Culture Show on BBC 2. He has been responsible for writing and presenting many documentary films for the BBC about individual artists and historical subjects related to the arts. Matthew is an established author and an artist within his own right having trained at the Byam Shaw School of Art. (Spaces are limited so please book online).

Entertainment by Mama Tokus, and cocktails provided by the B-Bar will ensure a great, informal party atmosphere. The event is free, but booking is essential via the new website www.artsmatrix.co.uk.

Hannah Revell, Creative Services Development Manager for ArtsMatrix said: “We are thrilled to re-launch this important service for the creative sector with a beautiful new website and programme of events. A great deal of work has taken place of the past twelve months to gather and respond to the needs of members, their business and creative practice.”

“We urge everyone with an interest in the arts to log on to the new website to try it out. It’s the perfect place for the public to engage with artists, buy and commission works, and an opportunity for members to showcase their work to a wide audience, and much more, so don’t miss out!”

Events revealed in the new programme include courses and networking events such as ‘Take Me to Market – Visual Art’ in Bristol, ‘Brand You!’ in Exeter, ‘The Digital Age’ in Bristol, ‘Sub-Cut’ in Plymouth, and ‘Survive and Thrive’ in Gloucester. Events are planned for each month throughout the region.

Members of ArtsMatrix have access to specialist resources, the chance to engage in collaborative projects, business support services and discounted training and networking. Membership is tiered so that members can tailor the package to their needs.
