BBC Performing Arts Fellow

As part of the BBC Performing Arts Fellowship, Proper Job Theatre Company is seeking an individual who has shown dedication towards a career in theatre design, particularly for touring theatre, and demonstrates potential to take the next step towards a professional career as a theatre designer. Proper Job Theatre Company are based in the North of England creating and touring new work, producing large-scale theatre events whilst supporting and nurturing individuals from the local community and across Yorkshire and the North West. At Proper Job we are passionate about continuously developing projects that excite us, fire our curiosity and expand our imagination.

The fellowship will provide:

• A tailor-made programme to develop your skills
• Guidance and mentoring provided by experienced staff and leading theatre makers and designers
• An opportunity to develop your design capabilities on a range of projects
• A realised theatre design which will tour across the Northwest
• Support to help you to the next stage of your career and potential future design opportunities

The fellowship will take place between January and December 2015 through an agreed flexible programme.

Please note that this fellowship is subject to Proper Job Theatre Company being chosen as a host organisation (confirmation to be received in November 2014). The BBC Fellowship is not a salaried post, but provides funding to cover expenses, time and resources needed to properly support and nurture a developing writer.
