Creative Producer and Marketing Coordinator

Proper Job Theatre Company is looking for an experienced Creative Producer and Marketing Coordinator to help Proper Job’s work reach a broader market. The role will focus on the organisation of the company’s theatre work as well as leading the company’s marketing strategy across all projects.

The ideal candidate will be creative and motivated with ambition for the work of the company. This role will be based in our offices in Huddersfield but may require travel to venues.

The role is 3 days per week, days negotiable. Flexible working will be essential with some evening and weekend work required. £20,000 PA pro rata.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
• To manage all theatre productions from inception through to final evaluation
• General company marketing

AS CREATIVE PRODUCER YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
• Creating a strategic plan for the life of a production
• Tour booking
• Managing the employment of any staff necessary to the production
• Developing a database of venues and make initial introductions in a way that continues to develop the company’s audiences
• Development of relationships with venues
• Planning for and delivering a specific marketing strategy for all production
• Working with the administrator and other employees to ensure the smooth running of a production
• Budget management of the project

AS MARKETING COORDINATOR YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
• Supporting the Directors and Project Managers to create bespoke marketing plans for all of Proper Job’s Projects.
• Copy writing for all marketing platforms
• Working with the companies freelance designer on all promotional material for all Proper Job projects.
• Writing and distributing e-newsletters
• Maintaining / updating PJTC’s social networking sites regularly
• Managing the design and print of all company publicity
• Maintaining and developing the company’s website, posting regular news items ensuring the site is up to date with projects, latest news, biogs, blogs, recruitment, news etc. 
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES FOR THE ROLE:
• At least 2 years of proven experience in producing professional touring theatre
• Excellent communication skills with production, performance and venue personnel.
• Clear organisational skills and ability to keep to deadlines.
• High level of computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
• At least 2 years proven experience in marketing across all platforms including digital, print and social media.
• Ability to prioritise a demanding workload
• Strong knowledge of the UK arts landscape

DESIRABLE QUALITIES FOR THE ROLE:
• Already established networks with mid scale venues
• A good overview of the arts landscape in Yorkshire and the North West
• Knowledge of community arts practice
• Historical knowledge of Proper Job and our previous work
