Tech Week: creative workshops for technophobes and technophiles

Tech Week 23rd-27th all events at Soundart studios, Dartington

Audacity Intensive Monday 23rd 10am-3pm
Need help with audio editing? Bring your own laptop and/or recording equipment if you have them, or let us know first if you need to borrow some for this workshop. Suitable for complete beginners, or those with more experience who would like some support and tips. It's great if you bring along some work in progress, or a clear idea of what you want to achieve. £10 per person.

Microphone workshops
Suitable for adults, or parents and older children to do together. Learn about sound recording, the science of sound and electronics, and take home some amazing microphones to use for years to come.
Build a microphone, record amazing sounds, take it home to use and cherish.

Contact Microphones Wednesday 25th 11am-3pm
Get started in sound and electronics, by soldering together a simple contact microphone for recording musical instruments and other objects.
£15 per person + £5 materials.

Hydrophones Thursday 26th 11am-3pm
Hydrophones are waterproof microphones for underwater recording. £15 per person+ £10 materials

Parabolic Microphones Friday 27th 11am-3pm
Parabolic microphones can record detailed distant sounds, such as speech and birdsong. £15 per person +£15 materials
