This concert is the same work that the Choir performed in it's first performance in 1878, the choir actually formed in 1871 but did not do a performance of a major work until 1878. The programme is Mendelssohn's "Hymn of Praise" with some lovely choir anthems in the second half by Parry, Brahmms, Haydn, Elgar and Mendelssohn.
