Exploring Digital Aesthetics

11am–4pm, £10/£8, booking essential

A hands on workshop exploring how to re-create data in physical form and make physical or visual representations of environmental data. It will focus on sharing practical knowledge about using the Arduino open-source electronics prototyping system in order to ‘mod’, ‘hack’ and ‘craft’ objects and installations.

This workshop is aimed at artists, designers, hobbyists, craftspeople or anyone with an interest in creating interactive objects and environments. No experience of electronics is required to attend as Arduino is an amazingly powerful tool that is very simple to learn to use. It was designed so that individuals with no prior knowledge can start from nothing, and make something happen in less than 90 minutes. We will provide the arduinos and sensors, If you have a laptop please bring it with you, but not essential.

Led by Graham Dean from Highwire, doctoral training centre. For further information see: www.aghillo.org
