Feature Film Screening - Belleville Rendezvous Reanimated

Feature Film Screening - Belleville Rendezvous Reanimated

Belleville Rendezvous Reanimated (12A)

France / 2003 / 78mins / subtitles / 12A. Dir: Sylvain Chomet. With: Michele Caucheteaux, Jean-Claude Donda.

When her grandson is kidnapped by the French mafia during the Tour de France, Madame Souza and her beloved pooch Bruno team up with the Belleville Sisters, an aged song-and-dance team from the days of Fred Astaire, to rescue him. This charming, sardonic and bittersweet tale is given a magical rescore played live by Animat, blending the original sounds from the film with a range of live instrumentation and samples to create a unique live cinema experience. Plus Q&A with Animat and a few added extras as expected from the St Albans Film Festival Team!

This film is great for adults and children alike - Parents, 12A means that anyone aged 12 or over can go and see the film unaccompanied. The A stands for 'accompanied' and 'advisory'. Children younger than 12 may see the film if they are accompanied by an adult (eg someone over the age of 18), who must watch the film with them. Great fun film with the added bonus of ANIMAT’s live soundtrack. A live cinema experience not to be missed.
