An evening of South Asian Music and Dance
Presented by Divya Kasturi Company
Sunday 8 October, 5.30pm
Tickets: £10 | £8 Concessions
Following on from our 2017 Fun Palace, Divya Kasturi presents a trio of works illustrating some of the rich and varied cultural tapestry of South Asia.
The first, a showing of a new piece created as part of The Place’s 2017 ‘Choreodrome’ season. This re-imagination of the iconic 19th Century classical Tamil composition on love, was created in collaboration with Chitra Sundaram. The second part of the evening brings traditional Indian song to the stage, performed by classically trained female vocalists. The third and final part of the performance will see Divya perform a traditional Dance piece.
Come and be captivated by the delights of these international performers.
