Rose Cook is well-known in the South West of England, having performed extensively in many venues, including the Ways With Words festival at Dartington and, as one of the Apples & Snakes poets at the North Devon Festival in Barnstaple, Exeter Phoenix’s Text Festival, a Peterloo Poets event in Cornwall and the Soho Theatre, London.
Over the last two decades her work has also been shared through page-based publication and performance. Poems have appeared in anthologies and literary magazines, including Smiths Knoll, Tears in the Fence, The Shop, Creature, Rain Dog, South and The Interpreter’s House.
She co-founded the popular Devon poetry and performance forum One Night Stanza, as well aspoetry performance group Dangerous Cardigans. Her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Devon and local SoundArt radio.
She spent a year supported partially by ACE (Feb 08—Dec 08), writing new work and devising writing workshops for older people, as well as her own solo poetry show.
She's also a photographer and has shown her photographic work in several Devon exhibitions. She achieved an MA in Photography and the Land at Plymouth university.
Her most recent collection of poems is Notes from a Bright Field (2013) published by Cultured Llama.
